The Chemex brewer was invented in 1941 by a German chemist and the original design is enshrined in the Smithsonian and MOMA NY. It also happens to brew a pretty darn good cup of coffee.

 

 

 

Step 1

Bring water to a boil.

 

 

Step 2

Grind coffee to a medium grind size.

 

 

 

Step 3

Disasemble the Walkure and pour your ground coffee in to the appropriate compartment.

 

 

 

Step 4

Reassemble the Walkure leaving the top piece off.

 

 

Step 5

Place your Walkure on a scale and pour the appropraite amount of water into the top. The holes on top piece will disperse the water you pour in evenly.

 

 

Step 6

Remove the top half of your Walkure and place the top piece on. Pour and enjoy!
